Fort Wayne Myanmar Islamic Educational Academy Community Inc.
Today Learners, Tomorrow Leaders
Fort Wayne Myanmar Islamic Educational Academy (FWMIEA), also known as Jamia Arabia Noor Ul-Huda Wa Hifzul Quran (JANUH), is a nonprofit organization established by Burmese refugees and immigrants in Fort Wayne, Indiana since September 2018. This is the first ever school opened to Burmese Muslims in the Fort Wayne area. The school accepts all students from anywhere who are willing to learn the Quran. The school received numerous donations from different states and surrounding communities. Thanks to those kind donors, the school is expanding and more projects are in place. The school teaches both Hafiz and Mulawe from the beginning, which is mainly memorizing the Holy Quran. The school now has about 130 students and accept students from 9 to 18 years old. The school operates Monday through Friday and on Saturdays. Anyone can come to our school and have a tour as we are trying our best to make changes with the help of sponsorships from our communities. In 2019, three of our students finished the Holy Quran and become Hafiz. As of 2020, five students will finish learning the Holy Quran and will become Hafiz. As of 2021, the Mulawe students would begin 8th grade in their study.
